Many individuals like to travel in their elder years.  So what happens to your Medigap plan coverage if you need to get medical treatment and you’re outside of the U.S.?  Plans C, D, F, G, M, and N provide emegency health care benefits when you’re travelling abroad.

These plans pay 80% of billed charges for emergency care after you pay a $250 deductible, however, the care is only covered if it has been provided during the first 60 days of your trip.

Foreign travel emergency care has a lifetime benefit maximum of $50,000.

If you purchased any of plans E, H, I, and J before June 2010, these plans also provided foreign travel emergency health care.
