The House passed a bill on Thursday, April 3rd, with the intention to redefine the number of hours an employee needs to be considered a full-time worker as it relates to the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

When the ACA was originally passed, a full-time worker was defined as an employee working 30 or more hours per week.  Under the new bill, this would be increased to 40 hours or more per week (the original value prior to the ACA going into effect).

The bill still needs to be approved by the president before it can become official – whether the bill is approved or vetoed is expected to take place later this week.
