Florida Life Insurance helps to protect the financial future of your family, loved ones, and your business at the lowest possible cost.  TermInsuranceBrokers.com works with over 45 of the best Florida Life Insurance companies, and helps you instantly compare rates and research different plans before you buy.  Florida has many state-specific insurance laws to help protect consumers, including some of the following:

Free Look Period – Florida state law allows anyone purchasing life insurance to return the policy within 10 days of receiving it for a full refund of any premiums paid.  If returned, the contract is considered to be surrendered and the insurance company is no longer obligated to pay any claims.  Most Florida Life Insurance companies allow up to 30 days for the policy to be returned without penalty.

Grace Period – Protects consumers by requiring policies to stay in force as long as premiums are paid within a 30-day grace period of the due date.  This helps avoid lapsing a policy due to a change in bank accounts, mail delays, etc.  Some Florida Life Insurance companies will allow longer than a 30-day grace period to pay the premiums owed, but may require a limited or full medical profile to place the policy back in force.

Secondary Addressee – Allows the owner of a Florida Life Insurance policy to designate a secondary person to be notified in case a premium payment is missed.  This person must be designated to the company on the original application or by completing the necessary forms after the policy has been issued.

Life Settlements – Florida residents are allowed to sell life insurance policies that they own to a third party company, but any agent taking part in a life settlement must have a separate, specific license to help conduct the sale.  We strongly advise using the help of an experienced life insurance agent who has participated in life settlements before as the process can be complex, especially for larger cases.

Agent Licensing – Florida Life Insurance agents must be licensed not only in the state of Florida, but also within the specific county that you reside.  You can check if an agent’s license is active by searching the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation website.
